Johnny Depp = Dr. Strange

Apparently, the actor hast met with the Marvel officials, eying the role of Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange.

Johnny Depp, who confesses to be an avid comic-book reader, is familiar with how Disney works, being the star of many of the studio’s movies, the most famous being the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Speaking of which, the actor is already on board for the next installment, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which was pushed back beyond the 2015 blockbuster season.

Doctor Strange is one of the exotic superheroes brought by Stan Lee, being able to harness the mystical powers of the entire world, thus being called The Sorcerer Supreme.

If Johnny Depp will indeed be Doctor Strange, it will be interesting to see what kind of approach will the writers take, since Stephen Strange is in his 30s, while Johnny Depp is almost 51.

Michael Douglas is in Ant-Man

It hasn’t been a month since Paul Rudd was confirmed to be the Ant-Man in Edgar Wright. The big question was, however, which Ant-Man will the comedian portray? Will it be Hank Pym? Or Scott Lang?

That question is now answered: Marvel has confirmed that Michael Douglas was signed for playing Hank Pym, thus kind off confirming that Paul Rudd is Scott Lang.

As a matter of fact, just recently, Edgar Wright has just released a picture from Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes episode To Steal an Ant-man, thus hinting at the probable course of the movie. By doing so, he also teased characters Luke Cage and Iron Fist, characters who will be getting their own solo series on Netflix.

Ant-Man star for now Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, and it is directed by Edgar Wright. The movie is scheduled for release in July 31, 2015.

Star Wars: Episode VII - new plot details

Michael Arndt’s older script for Star Wars: Episode VII was focused on the offspring of the heroes from the original trilogy, Luke, Han, and Leia. Because of some differences in opinion, Michael Arndt left the project, with J. J. Abrams assuming the rewriting role.

As it seems, the director wanted to put a greater focus on Luke, Han, and Leia, with their children playing only a second fiddle, because he felt that the audiences should have a last chance of enjoying their favorite characters before they were written off.

Of course, episodes VIII and IX will focus completely on the still unnamed children of Luke, Leia, and Han.

Due to these differences of opinion between J. J. and Arndt, Star Wars: Episode VII’s release date was pushed back to December 2015.

Avengers: Age of Ultron - Bruce Banner and his love interest

This rumor comes from Latino Review and sees Bruce Banner - and possibly his much more calmer alter-ego - actively dating in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

While just a rumor for now, this would be another opportunity for Joss Whedon to shine with some witty dialogues. With such a huge cast and such a terrific plot, it is almost certain that this presumed relationship will only be played for laughs, being as light as possible.

As for the contenders for Hulk’s better half, Betty Ross could make an appearance, after seeing the giant green monster battling aliens in New York. How long was it since she last saw him.

However, a new addition to the story might be at hand also, with the “girlfriend” being a Hulk inamorata, who doesn’t know about him actually being Bruce Banner.

Jason Momoa in Batman vs. Superman?

Wishful thinking, as the actor himself said.

In the past few months, the actors was rumored to play either Doomsday, the Martian Manhunter, or Metallo, in this order. And, while he would have made a great Doomsday, with his imposing physique, or at least a great Martian Manhunter, with his fierce eyes, the actors himself declared that his casting is only a rumor.

Jason Momoa said that, although flattering, these are only rumors and he cannot comment on that. All that probably happened is that someone told him he should be in Zack Snyder’s sequel, and he answered that it would be great. From there one, everything else was speculation and wishful thinking.

Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Scott Lang teased by Edgar Wright

While there are no details about the plot of Ant Man yet, Edgar Wright has done his homework and now asks the fans to do their - the director posted a photo from The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes with the caption “Homework”.

The picture is coming from the animated series’ To Steal an Ant Man, in which Scott Lang steals the Ant Man equipment from the original superhero Hank Pym in order to commit a series of crimes. This news can be correlated with a previous statement of the director, who said that Ant-Man will be a heist movie.

Furthermore, this episode also introduced Heroes for Hire Inc., consisted by Luke Cage/Power Man and Danny Rand/Iron Fist. As every fan knows, Marvel has teamed with Netfilx in order to create 4 series, 2 of which are Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

Could this be the way these character will be introduced in their own series, through a cameo in Ant Man? Marvel has done it before, and it worked out very well.

Also, last month Marvel has revealed that Paul Rudd will be Ant man, although it isn’t known yet if he will portray Hank Pym or Scott Lang. In the comics, Luke Cage and Iron Fist are hired by Hank Pym to find Scott Lang, who has stolen his costume.

Ant-Man is directed by Edgar Wright and stars Paul Rudd as the titular character. It is scheduled for release on July 31, 2015.

X-Men: Apocalypse and the origins of mutants

The latest news concerning the X-Men cinematic universe have seen Rogue leaving momentarily the franchise, and Toad returning in a younger self. A chance still remains, however, that both of these characters and even more will show up on the road, as X-Men: Days of Future Past will set off X-Men: Apocalypse, presenting the mutants’ greatest foe, a mutant so powerful that on several occasions he has tampered with the destinies of so many.

While for the moment it isn’t known whether Bryan Singer will return to direct X-men: Apocalypse, the director previously stated that this super-powerful villain will be teased in the ending of X-Men: Days of Future Past, even if it is uncertain how this will be done.

Also, Bryan Singer calmed down the fans, saying that Apocalypse won’t be an alien, and that his portrayal will be based on the canon. This means that Apocalypse will indeed be the first mutant ever, Bryan Singer having in mind to explore the origins of the mutant kind.

With X-men: Days of Future Past opening the door of time travel - something that Apocalypse does a lot - the X-Men Cinematic Universe is certain to expand at a faster rate, with plans for a X-Force movie already announced and a Wolverine 3 being currently negotiated. Also, it seems that one of the fans’ wet dreams is going to become true after all: the rumors of an X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover have intensified after Apocalypse was announced.
